Overview

NADAP is looking for a HR Manager to work in our Downtown Brooklyn office. The Human Resources Manager's primary focus is making NADAP an exceptional place to work and grow, through training and developing staff. S/he will set the vision to attract, develop, and retain the best people through designing our performance management model. The HR Manager will oversee the employee lifecycle from onboarding to exit, and ensures trainings are provided throughout NADAP's various programs. The HR Manager will also help with the recruiting for open positions at NADAP.

 

 

This position will be instrumental in building out the HR team in a period of high growth. In doing so, the HR Manager will work cross functionally with senior management throughout NADAP. This position reports to the HR Director.

Responsibilities

  • Ovesees the Talent Acquisition team and creates best practices in recruiting new talent at all levels of the organization 
  • Refines onboarding processes for staff to ensure that all new hires are introduced to NADAP's values and culture
  • Makes and/or supports leadership team to make hiring decisions, as appropriate
  • Develop new sources to identify and proactively build a warm bench of talent, conduct initial call to potential candidate
  • Create in-housing trainings for staff and supervisors in a classroom setting
  • Guides management team to deliver feedback and manage hard conversations
  • Sets expectation for individual ownership of career development planning and supports managers in creating and executing career development plans with staff and teams
  • Develops high quality performance evaluation design and processes, including clear performance frameworks, timely evaluations, and accessible data
  • Ensures evaluations provide actionable feedback linked with professional development opportunities, resulting in improved outcomes
  • Maintains employee engagement and satisfaction survey and analyzes data to glean trends and insights for the management team
  • Assist with special projects for employee enhancement initiative to promote a culture that celebrates employee contributions across all departments
  • Ensures organization is an employer of choice, to attract, develop, and retain top talent
  • Determines plan to implement rewards, recognition, and incentives to drive employee growth and increase retention of high-performers
  • Annually review and make recommendations to management team for the improvement of NADAP’s policies and practices
  • Proactively anticipates opportunities or issues and develops innovative solutions to address the opportunities or issues to drive more effective, efficient, or productive behaviors within the business or HR processes
  • Build strong relationships with managers and employees to provide effective HR guidance and coaching with assigned clients
  • Applies technical HR acumen expertise by demonstrating knowledge about state and federal labor, employment, and insurance law
  • Analyze and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and recommends action plans
  • Mediates complex conflicts and identifies sources of conflict to prevent future escalation
  • Leads organization through conflict, facilitating resolutions that protect the organizations interests and prioritize employees needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field required
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in human resources
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in supporting organizational leaders with performance management and building a strong and innovative workplace culture
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and management at all times
  • Energy and creativity in addressing HR issues; courageous; not afraid to break new ground
  • Deep sense of empathy and ability to communicate across diverse groups; strong service orientation
  • Absolute integrity and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential employment information with discretion; strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • A can do attitude and the ability work as part of a team
  • Ability to navigate through a complex, multi-faceted organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Comfort with accountability and receptive to feedback
  • Subject matter expert in an online applicant tracking system
  • Ability to travel to all of NADAP’s work sites within New York City
  • Demonstrated knowledge about where to find and attract talent using a social media platform and other effective methods
  • Computer proficiency with advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office suite applications
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and oral)
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred but not required
