NADAP is seeking a strategic, mission driven, high performance Chief Financial Officer

(CFO) to work beside the President & CEO to oversee all financial operations, responsibilities and strategies on behalf of the organization and its mission, put procedures in place to optimize inefficient areas of operation, and participate as a member of the senior management team.


Our ideal CFO has at least 5 years of experience in finance/accounting, with at least 3 as a CFO or in an equivalent capacity; has deep experience with performance based contracts and other forms of nonprofit revenues; and has excellent communications, team-building and management skills. S/he should be a quick learner, a creative thinker, have a strong understanding of the varied needs of a nonprofit—from the financial to the cultural—and keen insights into how to support continuous improvement in organizations.



  • Responsible for directing or by managing the Finance staff - for all cash management, insurance, budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Help lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow.
  • Monitor and anticipate the organization’s cash flow requirements and cash needs.
  • Work with the Program Directors and Development Director to efficiently developproposal budgets and provide easy and quick access to project finance information and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute user-friendly financial data and forecasts for the President & CEO, Board of Directors, management team and program staff.
  • Provide strategic financial direction to the Organization's Finance/Audit Committee and Board of Directors to assist them in their decision making.
  • Oversight and coordination of Form 990 and audited financial statements annually.
  • Oversee payroll and ensure completion of the related local, state, and federal reports.
  • Inform and strengthen strategic thinking and decision making by President and Sr. Team that promotes organizational sustainability and protects against risk.
  • Will represent agency on finance committees of various membership coalitions, IPA’s, and ACO’s, etc.
  • Negotiate and interact with representatives of various funding entities, both government and private.


  • Certified Public Accountant License or Master's level in a related field is required.
  • At least five years of experience in team management.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge diverse views into an effective and practical consensus while maintaining accounting principles and values.
  • High degree of initiative, creativity, and problem solving ability.
  • Proven effectiveness managing and developing others.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and to reassess plans in the face of new information.
  • Must be able to handle multiple time-sensitive projects and prioritize heavy workloads.
  • Meticulous eye for detail, accuracy, and high standards of presentation.
