    Program Overview:

    NADAP's CareerCompass, one component in HRA’s initiative to address the unique needs of improving employment and training outcomes in NYC, provides orientation, comprehensive and individual employability assessments and service coordination for adults 25 years of age and older.  As the first step in HRA’s programming, CareerCompass will identify and connect individuals to an education, training and/or employment track.

     

    Job Summary:

    The Orientation Facilitator provides interactive and motivational orientation to HRA CareerCompass participants including administering and scoring assessment tests.

    Responsibilities

    • Facilitates daily motivational orientations for newly referred HRA CareerCompass clients.
    • Responsible for administering and scoring the TABE Test, BEST Test and SABE Test.
    • Conducts workshops on self-assessment and introduces on-line tools that are used in a group setting. 
    • Maintains contact with Career Service Coordinators (CSC) to transition clients to the one-on-one intake process immediately following orientation.
    • Maintains and executes documentation and workflow through computer-based programs and technology.
    • Assists with job readiness workshops for program participants.

    Qualifications

    • High School required with at least 3 years related work experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in education, vocational rehabilitation or social-service related field preferred.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in use of applied information technology and on-line database systems.
    • Some prior professional experience working within a community-based organization or the government sector, directly serving an under-resourced population required.
    • Experience working in employment services or in social service-related field preferred.
    • Excellent platform skills with the ability to motivate and engage clients.
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
