    Program Overview:

    NADAP's Project ACE (Assessment*Case Management*Employment) is an intensive, employment-focused case management program that helps more than 700 New York City residents.  Staff conducts intensive client assessments and then designs and implements comprehensive, individualized service plans.  By addressing housing, substance abuse, and mental conditions and legal barriers, Project ACE helps clients move toward economic independence and self-sufficiency.

     

    Job Title: Employment Specialist

     

    Position Summary: To prepare clients in job readiness training curriculum that focuses on preparing clients for job opportunities created by the Job Development team and determine the clients’ qualifications with the position, through group and individual sessions.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct a one-on-one vocational assessment to collect information on the participant’s personal work history, barriers to employment, criminal history, personal/family background, and living situations. Assessment is ongoing
    • Conduct job-readiness workshops for program participants on resume preparation and writing, online job applications and follow up, job search tools, using email, interviewing skills, workplace ethics, soft skills and business conduct, networking and financial literacy
    • Work with participants to develop a comprehensive employment plan based upon a thorough understanding of the individual’s interests, strengths, preferences and needs, and revise as needed
    • Monitor and maintain contact with employed clients and employers, providing weekly progress reports during the first month of employment, and bi-weekly thereafter, to Case Manager Supervisor and Manager
    • Attend and participate in meetings, staff development sessions and in-service trainings as assigned
    • Collaborate with assigned Case Manager and Job Developer to support clients employment goal
    • Provide referrals to community-based supportive services
    • Facilitate motivational orientations for newly referred and re-referred clients
    • Identify and address clients’ barriers and issues.
    • Utilize Vocational Assessment tool to identify job ready clients and refer them to Job Developers

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree Required
    • Minimum of 3 years experience providing employment services for clients with barriers to employment
    • Bilingual speaker preferred
    • Experience providing vocational and employment services
    • Advanced knowledge of specialized or technical field
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
