    Program Overview:

    NADAP's CareerCompass, one component in HRA’s initiative to address the unique needs of improving employment and training outcomes in NYC, provides orientation, comprehensive and individual employability assessments and service coordination for adults 25 years of age and older.  As the first step in HRA’s programming, CareerCompass will identify and connect individuals to an education, training and/or employment track.


    Job Title: Supervisor of Service Coordination


    The Supervisor of Service Coordination provides supervision, coordination and evaluation of work activities of the Career Services Coordinators and Follow-up Services Coordinators. The Supervisor ensures the ten Coordinators are accurately conducting assessments, service plans and client referrals to assist them in achieving their career goals.

    • Manage, supervise and provide leadership for up to ten Coordinators.
    • Hire and train staff on proper job readiness procedures, monitor quality and quantity of services and provide performance feedback to staff regularly. 
    • Ensures workforce management services are provided in compliance with program policies and procedures by conducting regular chart reviews and audits.
    • Assists staff in developing a comprehensive intake, assessment, and service plan for CareerCompass clients referred by HRA. Identifies in-service training needs and participates in workforce development and delivery. Assists in the identification and interventions to address clients’ barriers to employment when needed.
    • Effectively collaborates with all CareerCompass staff members to support program, policy and resource development, and client services.
    • Identifies in-service training needs and participates in workforce development and delivery. 
    • Develops and fosters working relationships with CareerCompass management, external referrals, HRA and other service providers as needed.


    • Education and Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in social service-related field required with at least 3 years work related experience.
    • Management experience in a workforce development program.
    • Must have experience in hiring, training and motivating staff.
    • Experience working in an automated online system and track clients activities throughout the program.
    • Some prior professional experience working within a community-based organization or the government sector and working with an under-served population.
    • Experience in resource development, case management and referral.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and computer skills.
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
    • Experience working with public assistance population preferred.
    • Experience or familiarity with the disability population preferred.
