    The Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter is mainly responsible for recruiting. This position also partners with employees and managers to communicate and interpret Human Resources and business policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead recruitment efforts and recruiting coordination for NADAP programs. Partner with hiring managers to ensure that the organization is recruiting top talent
    • Handle staffing coordination requirements (job postings, screening resumes, interview scheduling, applicant tracking, approval process, etc.) as well as the interviewing and assessment of the candidates
    • Coordinate and monitor employee progress through employment process, working closely with the HR Assistant
    • Effectively contact new applicants that are not actively seeking
    • Source candidates through provided lists, internet, networking, cold calling, etc.
    • Process background checks and other pre and post-employment activities in line with existing employment law and HR policy and procedures.  Conduct exit interviews. Address or escalate employee relation issues
    • Handle coordination of temporary/contractor hiring, working with managers and Finance
    • Manage the recruitment and hiring of interns with local colleges
    • Conduct monthly new employee orientation and new hire on-boarding process
    • Track and record candidate demographics as necessary for Affirmative Action Plans
    • Partner with Director of Human Resources to assist in establishing training and development programs, performance management and other Human Resources initiatives for NADAP’s programs and the Human Resources department
    • Lead and/or participate in Human Resources team or business initiatives and special projects as appropriate

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma required
    • PHR, SPHR or similar certification preferred
    • Three years of full cycle recruiting
    • Strong computer skills
    • Must have experience with an online applicant tracking systems (iCIMS preferred)
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
    • Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work on multiple priorities concurrently
    • Non-profit recruiting experience is preferred
    • Working knowledge of behavioral or structured interviewing 
    • Exceptional client service focus with strong sense of urgency
    • Excellent communication skills in order to effectively and professionally correspond, both verbally and in writing, with employees, managers and colleagues
    • Strong capability in creative problem solving and effective issue resolution
    • Substantial knowledge of standard employment practices and procedures. Proven professional administrative capability, including management reporting and analytical skills
    • Ability to work on assignments and initiatives independently while using good judgment in deciding when to take action or when to ask for direction
    • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and highly sensitive information
    • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
    • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to partner effectively in a team setting
    • Occasionally available for weekend or evening pre-screening over the phone with candidates
    • Occasional travel to other New York area offices required
