    Program Overview:

    NADAP's CareerCompass, one component in HRA’s initiative to address the unique needs of improving employment and training outcomes in NYC, provides orientation, comprehensive and individual employability assessments and service coordination for adults 25 years of age and older.  As the first step in HRA’s programming, CareerCompass will identify and connect individuals to an education, training and/or employment track.



    Job Title: Job & Internship Developer


    Job Summary:

    The Job & Internship Developer will provide comprehensive business development that will generate internships and community service engagement openings for clients and maintain a internship and community service resource bank for client referrals.  Will develop opportunites based on Career Pathways employment sectors.  Provide ongoing tracking and progress reporting for all placements.  


    • Identify and secure a variety of internship and community service engagement opportunities for clients to help fulfill their HRA employment requirements.
    • Promote employment services to area businesses to create future partnerships and identify job openings and internship opportunities.
    • Achieve and maintain monthly placement goals as determined by Director.
    • Track clients progress, attendance in internship/community service opportunities
    • Identify and build relationships with AE providers; engaging and enrolling other AE partnerships as needed.


    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of related experience. Master’s Degree preferred. 
    • Working in an automated on-line system, demonstrates proficiency in use of applied information technology and on-line database systems.
    • Some prior professional experience working within a community-based organization or the government sector, directly serving an under-resourced population required.
    • Experience working in employment services or in social service-related field preferred.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule and to travel to various locations.
    • Previous experience in job development and building employer/agency partnerships preferred
    • Bilingual in Spanish /or 2nd language a plus.
