    Program Description:

    The Nassau Comprehensive Employment Services (NCES) team provides vocational services to assist client’s to achieve their employment goals. Services include providing assessment, training, job search and placement services, retention, and career advancement.


    Job Title: Outreach and Retention Specialist - Hempstead, NY


    Job Summary:                                                                                 

    To provide employment and engagement services to clients and ensure employment retention of Nassau CES clients.


    • Provide outreach and retention services to achieve employment retention milestones
    • Responsible for receiving and documenting employment verifications, ensuring that the job meets DSS requirements for milestone billing and entering the employment schedules in WTWCMS database. Document clients’ retention status in the Nassau CES databases
    • Update documentation including case notes, weekly transmittal reports, paystubs, employment verification and workflow through computer based programs and technology
    • Responsible for conducting transitional benefits and other retention workshops as indicated
    • Communicating with Operatins Manager, Career Service Coordinators and Job Developer on progress and on-going needs of clients to be addressed. Meet with clients when necessary to update resumes
    • Re-refer clients who have lost their job to their Career Service Coordinator in order to successfully maintain enrollment and program milestones
    • Provides Supervisor and Director with weekly outreach and retention reports


    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Must have a vehicle and a valid NYS Drivers License
    • 1-2 years of job related experience with knowledge of a specialized or technical field
    • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and organizational skills
    • Team Player with energetic and enthusiastic personality
    • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
