    Program Overview:

    NADAP's CareerCompass, one component in HRA’s initiative to address the unique needs of improving employment and training outcomes in NYC, provides orientation, comprehensive and individual employability assessments and service coordination for adults 25 years of age and older.  As the first step in HRA’s programming, CareerCompass will identify and connect individuals to an education, training and/or employment track.


    Job Title: Supervisor of Service Coordination


    • Provides administrative supervision to Career Service Coordinators (CSC).
    • Support staff in completing a comprehensive intake, assessment, and service plan for all Career Compass clients referred by HRA
    • Assists CSC in identification and interventions to address clients’ barriers to achieving their goals, assists CSC’s with troubleshooting the web-based systems including NYCWAY, Credible and DTS.
    • Provides training and assists staff in the use and evaluation of assessment instruments, case management and analysis to complete the assessment (Employment Plan) and create the individual service plan (ISP).
    • Monitors and helps maintain CSC caseloads by assigning intake clients daily, working to ensure caseload sizes are balanced evenly. (this is the only new bullet I added)
    • Documents staff performance. Conducts monthly supervision meetings to review performance. Leads team meetings monthly. Motivates staff.
    • Participates in interdisciplinary meetings as needed
    • Develops and fosters working relationships with CareerCompass management, alternative engagement providers, other Career Services providers, external resources and HRA as needed.
    • Effectively collaborates with Internship & Placement Coordinators, Instructors, Post Placement Coordinators, and other CareerCompass staff to support program, policy and resource development, and client services.
    • Ensures service coordination is provided in compliance with program policies and procedures by conducting regular chart reviews and audits. Tracks EP and ISP completion daily. Determines quality and quantity of services provided.
    • Identifies in-service training needs and participates in CSC’s’ professional development and service delivery.
    • Interviews and recommends applicants for Career Service Coordinator position. Provides project orientation and job specific training on department procedures and operations to new hires.


    • Education and Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in social service-related field required with at least 3 years work related experience.
    • Management experience in a workforce development program.
    • Must have experience in hiring, training and motivating staff.
    • Experience working in an automated online system and track clients activities throughout the program.
    • Some prior professional experience working within a community-based organization or the government sector and working with an under-served population.
    • Experience in resource development, case management and referral.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and computer skills.
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
    • Experience working with public assistance population preferred.
    • Experience or familiarity with the disability population preferred.
