Overview

As Assistant Director of Human Resources, you will lead a small team of recruiters/generalists at NADAP.  You will be primarily involved in sourcing and hiring talent (internal and external) for the Agency and assist in managing employee relation issues, working closely with the Director of Human Resources. You will develop and implement talent acquisition strategies to ensure NADAP hires the best talent available.

 

NADAP, Inc. is a multiservice non-profit agency dedicated to offering various programs that assist disadvantaged populations in the New York City area to become self-sufficient.

 

Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Director will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and work closely with the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Manage, mentor and coach the performance of three Recruiter/Generalists to meet the recruitment and employee relations needs of the agency.
  • Develop staffing strategies and recruitment plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the agency. Serve as Agency’s Subject Matter Expert [SME] in recruitment. 
  • Manage the Agency's college recruitment program.
  • Drive recruitment efforts for most senior-level and key roles within the agency.  Provide back-up to recruiter/generalists and assist in recruiting when requisition counts are high.
  • Utilize and implement advanced sourcing strategies and processes to identify, source, and asses candidates.
  • Define and use metrics to create reports to manage recruiting performance.
  • Manage and advise on employee relation issues. Provide employee relations counseling. Notify or escalate to Director as necessary.
  • Partner with the Director in designing and implementing training and development programs.
  • Ensure team knowledge and understanding of new regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources. Make recommendations to Director for compliant policies.
  • Establish and maintain department records and reports, including those needed to comply with EEOC and OSHA. Complete required compliance reporting.  Ensure labor law postings are current across all locations. Track HRA-required hires and ensure HRA hiring targets or exemptions are met.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least five years of human resources experience with particular focus in recruitment and employee relations.
  • At least one year of experience managing employees in a recruitment function.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Recruitment.
  • Strong sourcing, interviewing, and assessment skills.

  • Nonprofit recruiting and recruiting experience in the New York City market preferred.
  • HRIS and applicant tracking system experience and strong computer skills are required.
