    Program Description

    The Nassau Comprehensive Employment Services (CES) team provides vocational services to assist client’s to achieve their employment goals. Services include providing assessment, training, job search and placement services, retention, and career advancement.



    Assistant Vocational Case Manager provides clients with outreach, assessment and vocational counseling to ensure the achievement of their employment goals. Assist clients with identifying career opportunities pre- and post employment.

    • While closely supervised by Senior Vocational Case Manager, conduct individual assessments to determine employment readiness.
    • Completes all require intake forms to outline client occupational goals and create employment strategy plans.
    • Maintains accurate files including documentation of client enrollment in employment activities.
    • Maintains a tracking system and prepares weekly and monthly status reports for management.
    • Conduct assessments and provide vocational case management for Spanish-speaking clients.
    • Maintains knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations, relating to individuals with barriers to employment within the TANF system.
    • Assists in conducting telephonic, written and face-to-face outreach and retention services to locate clients.
    • Meet and exceed performance goals set by the Program Director in all vocational case management areas of job function.


    • Associate Degree or certification equivalent and a minimum of 1 year job-related experience.
    • Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking desired.
    • Some knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations relating to individuals with barriers to employment within the TANF welfare system.
    • Proven ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from lower priority tasks, focusing on the most value added projects.
    • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and organizational skills; Analytical skills to find solutions to difficult situations; Team Player with energetic and enthusiastic personality.
    • Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Must be able to conduct employability assessments, recruitment and intake, and job readiness workshops
