  • Overview

    Administer the CareerCompass program and is responsible for achieving monthly performance targets through successful management of program operations. Key responsibilities include program design, execution and evaluation, budget oversight, supervision and management of mid and senior level managers. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the quality assurance program and statistical reporting. It is necessary that this role lead the development of collaborative relationships with partner agencies, referral resources, CBO's and government agencies.


    • Develops, directs, administers and evaluates the NYC Human Resources Administrative (HRA) CareerCompass program. Creates short and long-range plans for program to accomplish its goals.
    • Hires, trains and supervises the management staff of CareerCompass to ensure NADAP is meeting program goals, objectives and milestones. Conducts performance reviews; provides ongoing counseling to employees and make recommendations for promotion.
    • Identifies and develops client data and tracking methods.  Maintains contract accountability requirements.  Establishes program procedures and systems and makes appropriate amendments and updates as required to meet maximum outputs.
    • Oversees all program staff, program operations and all administrative functions.
    • Evaluates program workflow, referrals from HRA and referrals to Career Advance and other HRA programs. 
    • Monitors completion of orientation, assessment and all service delivery to meet program deadlines and performance goals.
    • Works in collaboration with NYC Human Resources Administrative staff and other contracted vendors to meet City and program objectives.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    • Must have a minimum of 5 years of senior management experience providing supervision and performance evaluation to mid-level managers.
    • Master's Degree in Business, Public or Health Administration, Social Work or related field required. In lieu of Master's Degree, Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of senior management position. Must have demonstrated progressive responsibilities in a large workforce environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and computer skills.
    • Good verbal and written skills; able to create and effectively deliver presentations.
    • Must be able to work effectively with public assistance clients from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients.
    • Maintain professional ethics related to confidentiality of client information.
