    Program Overview:

    NADAP's CareerCompass, one component in HRA’s initiative to address the unique needs of improving employment and training outcomes in NYC, provides orientation, comprehensive and individual employability assessments and service coordination for adults 25 years of age and older.  As the first step in HRA’s programming, CareerCompass will identify and connect individuals to an education, training and/or employment track.


    We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to CareerCompass program and management, complete various projects to assist in the achievement of program goals and provide support for the front desk. Provide assistance in the following areas: scoring of assessments, time keeping, attendance tracking. This position reports to the Business Manager and work along the other Administrative Assistants and Receptionists. 


    • Track attendance and engagement activities for clients and meet timekeeping reporting deadlines
    • Distribute metrocard to eligible clients and obtain client signatures in the Metrocard Log
    • Order office and testing supplies and maintains inventory for these supplies
    • Provide backup for reception and front desk coverage, as necessary
    • Scan, print, and photocopy documents for clients, staff and program needs
    • Prepare and collate handouts and other materials for Orientation and other workshops for the Orientation Facilitators
    • Assist Business Manager with data analysis and reconciliations
    • Troubleshoots all database issues and provide technical assistance to staff on data entry and program guidelines
    • Assist in the scoring of TABE/SABE as well as other assessment instruments
    • Provide assistance in the computer labs helping clients navigate job search sites


    • Strong administrative and computer skills
    • Attention to details and strong follow up on tasks is required to be successful in this role
    • Maintain professional ethics related to confidentiality of client information
    • Excellent customer service and presentation skills
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Must have 1 year of work experience (office setting)
    • Must be able to communicate to all levels
    • Experience working with similar client population is a plus
    • Bilingual is a plus
