Overview

The Development Associate will assist with the Director of Development by pursuing funding from a variety of sources, participating in fundraising drives, and preparing grant proposals.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop, manage and operate the customer relationship management (CRM) system
  • Maintain, update, and build relationships and communications with current and new donors
  • Work with Program Directors to help develop grant applications with new foundations and corporate donors, and assist with data analysis and impact assessment reports to donors
  • Help plan and manage marketing and logistics for company fundraising events, including anniversary galas
  • Prepare grant applications and fundraising proposals under the Director of Development's supervision. Modify applications to conform to grant requirements when necessary
  • Assist the Director of Development and other stakeholders with public and private fundraising initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development and departmental supervisors to prepare annual budgets and projections
  • Research previous fundraising efforts by studying literature and mailings available from government funding sources, private foundations, corporate responsibility program, and other contributions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

  • Strong writing, editing, organizational, research, and communication skills are essential
  • Excellent analytical abilities that can applied in aligning the organization's objectives with available funding opportunities
  • Experience managing data in a CRM system; Rasier's Edge and NXT preferred
  • Experience with social media fundraising and/or marketing on common platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Other research, writing, and communication skills are necessary

  • 2-5 years of fundraising experience and nonprofit sector experience highly preferred
